About Rebecca Boyko

Understanding and supporting people with emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical pain has always been an integral part of who I am and my life’s work. After graduating from Boston College in 1998 with degrees in psychology and theology, I joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps to work in an impoverished inner-city neighborhood in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn, NY.
This experience exposed me to the profound impact of trauma on identity, safety, belonging, self-worth, and emotional regulation within and among people. Despite the daily struggles faced by my clients, I also saw a universal human need for connection and innate resiliency exhibited in the face of suffering.
Aspiring to make a difference, I committed to learning as much as I could about trauma healing, earning a Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. With over 20 years of experience, I have worked extensively with Veterans, geriatric patients, individuals battling addictions, and clients in outpatient community mental health settings.
In 2018, I founded Bridge to Healing Psychotherapy and am dedicated to my private practice. A member of EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and a certified EMDR practitioner, I continue to strive to learn as much as I can about trauma and the healing process.
